Day two in Bali, I’m sitting in a coffee shop in a female founders meeting, I’m deep in conversation with Anna and we both spoke about how we use ChatGPT to process our thoughts. 
My background is human behaviour her’s is a data analyst. And yet we were both doing the same thing. When it comes to relationships, arguments, emotional moments… We go to ChatGPT to figure out what to say.

Even when you know what to say…you are not supposed to say it perfectly. And if you go to ChatGPT to ask it to rephrase what we want to say, it removes all of our unfiltered emotions. I believe that part of being human is learning how to be messy, how to be rude, how to get it wrong, and then grow from that. You can’t grow through perfection.

Imagine having two children and never allowing them to argue. They would never learn conflict, lose their temper and never learn to say sorry.
The whole point of the human experience is to make mistakes, get it wrong, and learn. But what we are doing now…Is we are fast tracking. We are trying to fast track connection and fast doesn’t mean better. Because in trying to get it right all the time…we are losing the ability to be human.

We are losing the capacity to respond without a script, I know I often say to my bot, please soften my message, I don’t want them to get triggered or offended.

We are outsourcing our humanity.

I have learned more in conversations like this…
Than I ever have from typing into a chatbot. So yes we can use the tools, but let’s stay messy.
Because you cannot become a better human…If you are never allowed to get it wrong.
