TEDx Milton Keynes Youth
Today I step onto the Red Dot in my hometown
Today, I’ll be delivering my TEDx Talk…
Radical Honesty.
I feel like I’ve had a relationship with TED for years.
For 15 years, I’ve been in the audience, sometimes in person, often online — listening, learning, and falling in love with the power of ideas worth spreading.
So to stand on the red dot today, in my hometown of Milton Keynes, is… surreal.
Milton Keynes is where my story began. At just six weeks old, I went to live with a family working with the Save the Children Foundation.
They took me in, loved me, and raised me as their own.
And now, all these years later, I get to stand on a stage here, sharing my own idea.
To be radically honest: I woke up with butterflies this morning.
I always do before a talk.
If they weren’t there, I’d worry.
Those butterflies are my gut kicking in, reminding me that speaking isn’t just about using your head. It’s about your head, your heart, and your gut, all working together to connect.
So here I am, ready to step onto that red dot, tell my truth, and hope it inspires someone else to tell theirs.
