I first knew of Ife Thomas through my wife’s work.
I’d heard her on a few group work calls my wife had been on.
I’d then started following Ife on Instagram because hearing her talk just seemed to captivate me.
I watched some of her reels and every time I was thinking to myself “how can I become as confident as this woman?”
I had the pleasure of attending an event which my wife had organised through her work and Ife was a speaker.
Once again I was simply captivated by Ife’s presence, her confidence and the ease of which she controlled the stage, the room and along with everyone else my attention.
I said to my wife “how do I do that?!”
I’ve been on Instagram on and off since 2018 and I’ve always found myself writing my captions too formally, as though it all had to be polished and look as good as the huge pages.
But it’s not me, it’s not my authentic self!
I’ve been terrified to show my face and do any live streaming too.
I write poetry through my lived experiences on mental health.
I have a lot to say but I don’t say it how I actually really want or mean to.
I want to be a spoken word artist but my confidence has always been far too low.
I now believe I have the ability to do this exactly how I intend to, by using the message in this book.
Here is where The Three Mirrors of Radical Honesty comes into play.
My wife and her boss had read this book and my wife suggested that I read it too.
When I actually bought this book Ife had just released her new book Storytelling For Humans
and so I bought both.
I will be reviewing that incredible book too.
The Three Mirros of Radical Honesty blew my mind!
The book is so insightful and there is so much in there that because of my poor memory, I filled the pages with little post it notes and highlighted so many sections that I keep going back to.
It is a true masterclass of self discovery and finding my authentic self.
I actually didn’t know just how much I needed this book until I’d started reading it.
As someone who suffers with poor mental health and low self esteem this book is nothing less that priceless for me.
Learning to slow down and change my perspective and looking at myself and others using each mirror is an eye opener.
I’ve always kind of steamrolled through life.
I make so many assumptions on myself and what others see and believe about me.
This book has given me the choice and methods to do this completely different and in a way that I can simply be myself and not be overthinking every human interaction.
I don’t want to go into too much detail because I want you to read and find each gem of wisdom yourself.
Knowing of Ife’s journey and watching her in action and very clearly practicing what she preaches, adds so much more to the message in this book.
I wish I’d have read this in my teens!
I’ll be making sure my two children read this because it is a must read!
For anyone wanting to learn how to simply be their true authentic self and to stop overthinking or apologising for just being you, this book is a life changer and I cannot praise it enough!!
Please buy this book and share your radical honesty, firstly with yourself and then the world around you.
It will become a much better place.
Thank you so much Ife
