2024 is the year to fly

We’re only 24 days into 2024, and I’m riding a wave of exhilaration that reminds me of the pivotal shift in my life’s trajectory.
Back then, a knee injury ended my dance career during an audition where my dreams pivoted in an instant. It was a dual pain physical and mental as I grappled with the end of performing, something that was a core part of my identity.
But as Steve Jobs said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking back.” Reflecting on my journey from dance to business to speaking, I see a clear path of purpose: helping people feel good about themselves.
At 17, inspired by the women of ‘Sex and the City’, I set my sights on being ‘fabulous and fierce at 40’. It’s been an undercurrent, a mantra, guiding me to this moment where I stand fearless, fit, and free from the weight of others’ opinions.
This year, I’ve made a pact: if a space doesn’t feel safe, I leave. It’s liberated me in ways I never imagined. And now, I’m gearing up to share this freedom tomorrow as I speak to women in business about boundaries, knowing your tribe, and the power of remembering why you started.
The crescendo of my journey, from the Big Brother house to stages across London, culminates in my theme song ‘Proud Mary’ or as I call it, ‘Proud Ife’. It’s a symbol of my essence, the joy I bring when I share my story to inspire.
As I look back, the dots of my life align perfectly, leading me to this present where I am fully booked to speak throughout the first week of February, addressing mental health in schools. It’s a dream for a speaker, and if you’re looking to join the excitement, my second week is open for bookings.
