Anyone else read this book?

Have you ever read a book, watched a movie, or heard a song and thought you understood it, and then come back to it at a different time in your life and heard something completely different? That’s why I love books. Out of all the books there is one that I return to more than any other. A book by Louise Hay- You Can Heal Your Life” I read it in my 20s, my 30s, and now I’m reading it again in my 40s, and each time I read it, I interpret it differently. And I see why I’m drawn to listening to people’s stories. When I sit with someone, it feels like we are going through chapters in their book. I’m hearing their story, and at the same time, they are hearing it too, but this time with who they are now. It’s like I’m reading their book for the first time, and they are rereading it with new eyes.
And that’s the power of storytelling.

While I’ve been in Bali, I feel like I’ve somehow found more hours in the day. I enjoy Bali time, which is bedtime in the UK, and then I work during UK hours, so it feels like I’ve figured out a time hack, 🫣don’t ask me when I sleep. (I’ll save that for another post)

I just read the chapter on the “Body” it resonated
Because I wrote at the beginning of this year that my word was JOY. I must have remembered this part, because I new in my heart I was craving joy.

“The heart represents love, and the blood represents joy. The heart lovingly pumps joy throughout the body. When we deny ourselves joy and love, the heart shrivels and becomes cold. As a result, the blood becomes sluggish, and we creep into anemia, angina, and heart attacks. The heart doesn’t attack us. We spend years squeezing all the joy out of it, and then we wonder why we end up in pain.”

Later she talked about paying attention to the little joyous moments because we often don’t notice them.
