Faith vs. Fear: A Choice We Must Make

Faith vs. Fear: A Choice We Must Make

Good morning.

I want to share my testimony in a way that speaks to both believers and non-believers, to inspire people, to attract new believers, and most importantly, to give glory to God.

This message is about faith versus fear, the paradox between the two, and how we can understand it through psychology, science, and spirit.

When I think of faith versus fear, I always go back to Bob Proctor and his description of these two forces. He said that whatever is feared can be revered, and that we live in two columns on one side is faith, on the other is fear.

But to even recognise which column we are living in, we first have to be self-aware. We have to become conscious of how we think, how we act, and how we speak.

Because ultimately, we get to decide.

The Nature of Fear: What It Does to Us

Fear, like faith, requires us to believe in something that we cannot see. But the difference is that fear paralyses.

As Jimmy Iovine says, fear can get in front of you and stop you in your tracks, keeping you from moving forward.

But fear can also be flipped it can push you from behind, fueling you and making you accelerate.

Fear is a powerful thing. If we let it stop us, it doesn’t just stay in our minds. It manifests in our bodies.

Every feeling we have must be expressed in some way. When we hold fear inside, the body reacts our hearts race, our stomachs tighten, we sweat, our adrenal glands flood us with stress hormones. Some people even experience the need to go to the bathroom because of the way fear affects the nervous system.

But if fear is never expressed, it becomes suppressed. And suppressed fear builds up inside us, creating a state that we know as anxiety.

It’s like shaking a bottle of coke the bubbles inside represent anxiety building up.

If we never release the pressure, it just keeps building. Some people live in this state for decades. And eventually, the bottle goes flat. That’s depression.

Depression is a flatness, an absence of energy, a disconnection from movement and purpose. The nervous system, having been in overdrive for so long, simply shuts down. You stop feeling. You go numb.

You’re just existing, going through the motions, not really living.

But the body can’t stay in this state forever. Everything changes nothing stays the same.

And when the depression lingers too long, it moves into dis-ease.

The body becomes uncomfortable.

Sickness develops whether it’s problems with the organs, issues in the blood, the growth of tumors because when the body is not at ease, it moves into disease.

And if that cycle isn’t broken, disease leads to death.

This is what happens when we live in fear.

The Power of Faith: A Different Choice

Now, let’s look at the other column faith.

Faith, like fear, requires belief in something unseen. But faith feels completely different. When we have faith, we are hopeful. We look to the future with expectation. We trust that things will work out.

And our bodies respond. Instead of stress hormones, faith triggers the release of endorphins and oxytocin the “happy chemicals.”

We feel lighter. We smile. We experience joy because we believe that the future is bright.

And from this state of well-being, creativity flows. When we are in a state of well-being, our minds open up. We become more innovative, more resourceful. We start to create solutions instead of dwelling on problems.

Faith moves us into creativity.

Creativity leads to innovation.

Innovation sparks new possibilities.

And new possibilities lead to a life filled with joy, gratitude, and purpose.

So, we are left with a choice:

Do we choose fear, or do we choose faith?

My Testimony: Why I Choose Faith?

Ever since I decided to choose faith no matter what I have seen the hand of God in my life.

No matter what I go through, no matter how my life changes, no matter how many things fall apart, I keep my faith.

Because I believe that we all have an assignment.

I believe that we are here for a reason. I believe that my life is held in the hands of God and that His plan for me is bigger than my fears.

When I have faith, I believe that I am here on purpose. I believe that everything I go through is part of something greater than I can see. And that belief is what keeps me going.

The Message: Your Assignment Awaits

There are only two paths to take.
Fear or faith.
And you get to decide.

Ever since I found faith, I have never looked back.

I know that God has a plan for my life, and I trust in it.

I choose to walk in faith, knowing that no matter what challenges come my way, God is in control.

And that’s the message I want to leave you with today.

Jeremiah 29:11 says:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This is not just a verse it is a promise.

A promise that God is in control.

A promise that no matter what we face, there is a greater purpose at work.

So today, my question to you is simple:

Will you choose fear, or will you choose faith?

Because the choice is yours.

And when you choose faith, you are choosing life. You are choosing joy. You are choosing to trust in the One who holds the future.

You are choosing to believe that there is an assignment on your life, and that no matter what happens, God is working all things for your good.

Choose faith. Always.

Thank you.
