The truth is, each one of us is born with greatness inside, but it needs to be developed through consistency and courage.
Before I step on stage to inspire and motivate, I spend hours practicing in private. Here is me walking in, getting ready to deliver a talk for Willen Hospice Ladies’ Day.
But in the second image, you can see me practicing at home with the full outfit on.
The first time I did it live, it didn’t feel like the first time because of all the rehearsals.
As I stand on stage, oozing with confidence, it’s important to remember that I did not begin this journey knowing what to say and do.
The brilliant thing about rehearsal is that you can do it over and over again until you feel it in your body and experience it fully.
So, when you do it for real, it’s not like the first time you’ve done it. It’s like building a muscle; it takes time, effort, and courage.
Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Whatever your dreams and aspirations, don’t focus on where you are right now. Instead, focus on where you want to be and work on bridging that gap.
Be consistent, stay focused, and have courage.
That gap is where growth happens, and it’s within your control.
