Thirteen years ago, I was evicted from the Big Brother house, greeted by a sea of boos. It was my most uncomfortable, yet profoundly transformative moment. I’m eternally grateful for that experience. It shaped me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
I learned confidence, self-esteem, and the courage to stand up for my beliefs. It was a journey of self-discovery, a testament to who I truly am. Going into that reality program, I questioned my decency. But I resolved to be authentically myself, regardless of how I might be portrayed.
Fast forward to today, I find myself in sunny Amalfi on a retreat with my best friend and personal coach. We’ve delved into the importance of the present moment. It’s easy to be consumed with the future, but I’ve been reminded that the present is where true power lies.
The past isn’t something to discard; it’s a teacher. The future holds us accountable. But the present moment is the foundation of it all. Surrendering to it can lead to crystallised clarity.
So, on this Sunday, my mantra is simple: “Let go, let God.” It’s a reminder that the past and future have their roles, but the present is where we take control, where we surrender, and where we find our truest selves.
